Jackie Dodd joined Gill Akaster in 2004, completed her training as a Solicitor with the firm, and decided at an early stage to specialise in employment. 

As well as handling tribunal cases, Jackie concentrates increasingly on business advice.  This involves a wide range of activities, from preparing contracts and staff handbooks to providing guidance on disciplinary matters, reorganisations, and a host of other HR issues.
A good deal of this advice is given by telephone, often about sensitive matters, and the challenge is to ensure that employee difficulties are handled sensibly from a commercial point of view, while avoiding any legal pitfalls.
