John is a solicitor in the Wills, Trusts and Taxes department.

John studied Law with French at Cardiff University which included a year studying law in Rennes, Brittany. He obtained his Diploma in Legal Practice from the Bristol Institute of Legal Practice.

John qualified as a solicitor in 2007 and joined Gill Akaster in 2008.

John specialises in inheritance disputes and contentious probate and has successfully dealt with a number of challenges to Wills. John is an Associate member of ACTAPS (The Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists).

John is also experienced in dealing with a variety of Court of Protection applications involving property and financial affairs.

John advises upon and drafts specialist trusts to protect personal injury compensation and also in relation to the family home. John’s practice includes the administration of estates and trusts.
