Kirsty specialises in the law relating to children acting for parents and other family members in care proceedings, residence, contact, special guardianship and adoption matters.  She is an experienced childcare specialist and is a member of the Law Society’s Children Panel.  Whenever possible, Kirsty undertakes her own advocacy.

Kirsty qualified as a solicitor in 1997 having studied law at the University of Manchester and joined Gill Akaster in November 2010.  She has worked in childcare law for 7 years, prior to which she was involved in acting for a local authority in complex health and safety, and food safety prosecutions.
