6/10/2009 Law Society Help! campaign

Gill Akaster are backing the Law Society's information campaign to make consumers in  Plymouth aware of how solicitors can help them solve a wide range of problems.

It will run from September 21 to November 21, and is aimed at encouraging consumers to use solicitors by highlighting the kinds of problems they can help with and how having the right legal information can help save money, time or heartache and often all three.

The campaign focuses on the reassurance to be gained by seeking advice from a properly qualified professional, using the strapline ‘Your solicitor – qualified to answer’.  The advertisements identify situations in which people need legal help.  The headline - “Help, I need somebody” – will be familiar to most, and the call to action is ‘Find a solicitor’.

Advertising will direct viewers to www.lawsociety.org.uk/commonlegalproblems  where they can search for a solicitor to help them through the ‘find a solicitor’ service as well as more in-depth information about how solicitors can help. Once there they can search for a solicitor to help them through the ‘find a solicitor’ service as well as more in-depth information about how solicitors can help.

Stephen Ramsden, Managing Partner of Gill Akaster Solicitors, based in Plymouth, says: “We regularly have to pick up the pieces from work done by unqualified, inexperienced and unregulated legal advisors. Quite simply it is far better value for money to put legal problems in the hands of experts from the outset rather than risk losing out to a cowboy. There are many ways of paying for legal work and clients should never receive a bill for unexpected charges.”

Solicitors offer a wide range of services. From writing wills to resolving disputes between neighbours, from problems at work to buying and selling your home and putting together your Home Information Pack.
