01/04/2010 - The green machine secure promotion
 

West Clubs Women’s League Trelawney Division One table toppers Mannamead have won promotion and a return to the South Division.

The "green machine" beat Plymouth University 5-1 at Bickleigh on Saturday March 20 to clinch promotion.

Of their 22 league games Mannamead have won 17, drawn 3, lost 2.

The greens' final league game was at Dartmouth on March 27 and they finished the season with a resounding 6-0 victory.  Very sportingly, Dartmouth provided a post-match celebratory roast dinner with bubbly!

Mannamead's Sunday Team have also won the Plymouth & District Sunday League with three games to spare - well done to them!  Of the 17 games played to date, they have won 15 and lost 2.

It has been a very successful season for Mannamead Ladies Hockey Club.

Helen Robertson and Michelle Grove will be attending the Club's Annual Presention Dinner at The Fish Market on the 17th April, with Ross Reid and Sara Raine of the Evening Herald making the presentations.
